Position Title: Lab Technician – Clinical Lab Technician

Location: Syracuse, NY

Job Type: Contract | Local or Travel

Shift: Evenings (5x8)

Pay Rate: $50 – $52 per hour

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform diagnostic testing procedures in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely specimen analysis while maintaining the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory protocols.

• Perform clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens in accordance with standard operating procedures and quality control protocols

• Process, prepare, and document specimens for in-house and reference lab testing

• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments; conduct minor troubleshooting and record maintenance logs

• Accurately enter patient data, test orders, and quality results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)

• Interpret and validate test results to support timely diagnosis and treatment

• Ensure compliance with infection control, biohazard safety, and PPE usage standards

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and institutional policies

• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities

• Effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced lab setting

• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (or eligibility/permit) – Required

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience – Preferred

• Must be able to accurately distinguish colors (critical for specific testing)

• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and computer data entry

• Must pass pre-employment health screening

• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to follow complex procedures and comply with regulatory guidelines

• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed
