Temporary Medical Receptionist 

Bradenton, FL

(Contract position for weeks in July and August )

Payrate: $18/hr.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (1/2 hour lunch break)

Patient Interaction

• Greet and check in patients upon arrival in a courteous and professional manner
• Verify patient information and update electronic health records (EHR)
• Answer multi-line phones and respond to inquiries or route calls appropriately
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Provide patients with necessary forms, instructions, and information

Administrative Duties

• Process patient registration, insurance verification, and collect co-pays
• Manage daily appointment calendar and coordinate with clinical staff
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
• Assist with billing inquiries and prior authorizations
• Sort and distribute incoming mail, faxes, and emails

Office Support

• Maintain cleanliness and order of the reception area and front desk
• Monitor office supplies and inform management when restocking is needed
• Support other administrative staff with clerical tasks as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or healthcare certification a plus
• 1+ years of experience in a medical office or customer service setting
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes preferred
