About RUNAP
The Rochester Union of Nurses & Allied Professionals (RUNAP) is an independent union of over 1,000 Registered Nurses in Rochester, NY. Founded in 2022, RUNAP won a historic first contract in 2023 and has continued the fight for safe patient care in the Rochester community.

RUNAP is a member of the Northeast Nurses Association coalition.

Job Summary
RUNAP is looking for an experienced Organizer to help the union continue to build power around critical issues like safe staffing, patient care, and a bedside voice in decision-making.

This is a salaried, overtime-exempt position that will include frequent evening meetings and occasional work on weekends. Both the Executive Director and Lead Organizer are longtime staff organizers and feel strongly about maintaining a good work/life balance while still taking the work seriously.

Job Duties
The Organizer will report to the Executive Director and Lead Organizer and collaborate in developing and executing the union’s organizing program. Duties will include workplace mapping, recruiting union reps and activists, training members on organizing practices, working with members on internal and external communications, and, if the position is extended into 2026, preparing for the next RUNAP contract campaign. Future potential for new organizing.
